Born to a welder and a petty trader in a wooden structure in Ashaiman. Going through a primary and junior high school which is no longer in existence. Living life together with four sisters and a brother , she was determined to make life in Ashaiman a proud place for someone. This is a young lady who was very passionate about reading .

Unfortunately in Ashaiman , unless you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth , you cannot dream of a successful life. Regardless of that, the adage which says "as the hot water boils an egg , so does hard situation and living condition boil up a person" was the song we sang for her.

Diana Setsofia Agbenyo is her name. Infact this is a story of my neighbor yes my neighbor . We played all the possible games a child living in Ashaiman could engage in . We all grew up , and i was faced with a hard decision on whether to say I live in ashaiman or not because of the perception it carried.

But Diana always says "i couldn't have been born anywhere better " and that carried me on proudly.

lt start with what this 20 year old "woman " has implemented in the "notorious city" Ashaiman

She started with the the painting of a class in order to be turned into a library as the is none like that in the town . she, said " if every child would discover what I discovered when I started reading , the world will be a better place"

After that ,she embarked on a project called " 3000 books for Ashaiman library" .

YES 3000!!!

I go down the memory lane and remembered when she failed mathematics in WASSCE. Most lifes would have been shattered considering, the home she came from. But that was another opportunity for her to invest in her hand skills. she enrolled in a sowing school ,graduated successfully ,and can now fully sow her own dress. Favour shown her path as she gained admission to the University of Ghana this year .

I could go on and on about this determined soul . But the bottom line is , anytime I see her , i am challenged to move from comfort zone. we lived in Ashaiman and we are forever proud of our city.

Her motto always stands as " GOD FIRST AND EVERYTHING WILL FOLLOW "
